Taking place on Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro since 1999, the King and Queen of the Beach events have become the most charming and awaited tournament in the Brazilian beach volleyball. The presence of the best athletes in the country, the unique form of dispute, the live coverage of SporTV Channel and the constant evolution transformed the annual competition in an audience success and reference as a marketing platform for brands.

It is a special tournament for the athletes, not only for the unique competition format , but also for the excellent organization . It is a great pleasure to talk about the "Queen of the Beach" tournament in which I participated 11 times as an athlete and several others as commentator for TV Globo and SporTV. It's an intimate event, which premite an open and frank communication between organizers and athletes, as well as an active participation of the public, through different promotions between games. I pinpoint the fantastic organization and quality of media coverage, both very important for the development of beach volleyball, athletes´visibility and return of sponsors. Congratulations!
